How to Garden: See What Grows Multimodal Materials and Methods for Movement. In this workshop, we expand and seep between dancing, writing, drawing, stoking the imaginarium, and being together as an ephemeral society. We will work from dreams, memories and imagination to dance with our wildness: ancestral, fungal, social. Moving from image-based shape and improvisation, we will explore the weight, tone and texture of the positions we put ourselves in. Breath, gravity, and sensation shape the tendrils of curiosity. Campus (Porto, PT) December, 2023

What We Do with The Dead Our bodies are felt as temporary autonomous zones of intersectional, inherited imperatives, immigrations, survival strategies, genocides, along with gendered, racialized, classed chronologies and cartographies. These morning classes will explore choreographic writing, tracing, and drawing practices that will emerge from our technical exploration of shape, breath, and movement. We will work with the senses, memory and materiality to hold presence and psychic cohesion in the always vulnerable body. Campus (Porto, PT) April, 2023

Winter Retreat This five hour workshop functioned as a mini-retreat with dynamic movement practice, herbal elixirs and unguents, breath work, and winter-centric folk traditions at The Studio (NYC) December, 2022

The Embodied Mind: Kabbalistic Traditions We were once one, then we broke down, and our bodies are the locus of all the drama. What do Kabbalistic traditions have to teach us about the sometimes mystical, often mortifying, always mortal nature of a human incarnation? This course will explore some of the esoteric renderings of creation narratives focused on fruits, faces, light bodies, gender, and the five senses. One-month course at Paideia - The European Institute for Jewish Studies (Stockholm, Sweden) November, 2022

Garden Pub(l)ics Following the ending of their Advanced Master of Research year at Sint Lucas Antwerp, seven participants were invited to a residency at Frans Masereel Centrum. We presented the residency’s outcomes as part of SLARG Research week at Morpho (Antwerp, Belgium) October, 2022

Instruments of Resonance A 10hr sound, breath, and movement workshop with Odeya Nini and Nevine Michaan. We consider the voice as an invisible limb: like a third hand, a third eye, a third foot- an implicit, vibratory node of resonance, an invisible other with whom to enter active relation. The body is a visible, ephemeral ingathering of tissues and organs that resonate in relationship. We are the shape that holds a voice, a kind of sonic organ of connection, with ourselves and our surroundings. Katonah Yoga Center (online) July, 2022

the body is a breath that accretes over time Judith Butler has shown us the ways that repetitions reinscribed and reproduced from the experience of gender, so too with our myriad hybrid identities. As people, we are already full of so many others, each one of us a simultaneous garden and graveyard. How do we live with the others who are here? installation, reading, video, and breath workshop based as part of Sint Lucas Antwerpen’s ADMA at Morpho (Antwerp, Belgium) June, 2022

to perceive a body collaborative workshops with Yingda Dong, integrating live drawing, somatic experimentation, and public dialogue at Morpho (Antwerp, Belgium) June, 2022

Breath of Life: a Workshop on Kabbalistic and Hasidic Breath Practices In this workshop, we explored Kabbalistic and Hasidic breath practices as well as their Biblical origins. With breath work, as in all learning, the means are the ends. There is nowhere to rush to, as we come to the end of our breath, we arrive at the end of our life. Living is a breathing process. Our mystics, prophets, and simple human holy ancestors have theologized techniques for infusing this magical mundane act that can enrich our thinking, feeling, and being. Taught at Paideia - The European Institute for Jewish Studies (Stockholm, Sweden) June, 2022

Is my arm the firearm? A workshop programmed as part of the Embodiment research strand of the fourth biennial research conference on Violence. This breathwork and embodiment workshop centered on the body’s experience of anxiety in the context of climate collapse. The workshop is based on a long-term choreographic investigation of trauma held in the body and expressed by it. Participants were invited to consider their bodies as weather-vanes for the impending violent transformation of society. At PARSE Violence Conference (Gothenburg, Sweden) March, 2022
