VIBRANCIES

May 14-17, 2026

Villa di Geggiano, Siena

Vibrancies is the first yoga retreat hosted at Villa di Geggiano, a 14th-century estate in the rolling Chianti hills, recognized as a National Heritage site. The Villa, with its original baroque gardens, frescoed interiors, and 18th-century furnishings, was designed as a place of villeggiatura—a rural retreat where nature, art, culture, and community came together to refresh the mind and spirit.

This retreat was conceived as a modern-day villeggiatura, inviting participants to step away from daily routines, rest in a beautiful setting, and allow the body and mind to be nurtured. Through gentle movement, yoga, and breathwork, time in the gardens, and meals crafted from seasonal and local ingredients, participants can slow down, attune to their natural rhythms, and reconnect with themselves and others. In this immersive environment, community, art, and nature work together to reset the mind and cultivate presence.

THE RETREAT

The retreat, conceived by Victoria Mikhelson and Bianca Boscu, is curated by Dages Juvelier Keates and explores vibrance as material practice—examining how processes like composting, fermentation, and mycelial networks inform our understanding of the body and presence. We’ll work with site-specific choreographies drawn from the baroque gardens, the artworks, and the Villa’s architecture itself, using the methodologies of ecological systems as templates for somatic inquiry.

During the retreat, the Villa will also host an art exhibition curated by Marianna Vecellio and organized in collaboration with Emanuela Campoli Gallery. The exhibition centers on the work of Natsuko Uchino with contributions by Mélanie Bordas and Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel. The artists will contribute directly to the retreat program through talks, workshops, and performances, creating a dialogue between visual art practice and embodied movement.

THE PROGRAMME

We will start each day with a morning studio session practicing asana, breathwork, and meditation in the Villa‘s studio spaces. In the afternoons, we will move from the studio into the gardens and exhibition spaces to develop practices in direct relationship with the artworks and ecologies present at the Villa. Between formal sessions, there is time to explore the Villa‘s 18th-century rooms, rest in the baroque gardens, or simply observe the frescoed ceilings that have held light for centuries. Evening gatherings may include walking meditation through the grounds and practices that work with spring‘s lengthening daylight. Throughout the duration of the retreat, Chef Inanna Wolf prepares meals that extend these investigations into nourishment and seasonal eating. Off site participation and daily drop-in options are also available, please contact us to receive further information.
